A Facebook profile is a person's personal account with a 5,000-friend limit, while a Page is a separate public presence for a business, brand or creator with unlimited followers, insights, ads and monetization tools. In between sits a third option — a profile in professional mode: the same personal account, but with insights and monetization. Below: how they differ, how many Pages you can create and how to set up a business Page.
Facebook Page vs profile: what is the difference
- Profile — under your real name, one per person. Up to 5,000 friends; others can follow. No insights or monetization.
- Professional mode — the same profile with an insights dashboard, monetization and posts shown in recommendations. The friend limit stays at 5,000, followers are unlimited.
- Page — for a company, brand, shop or public creator. Followers instead of friends, with no limit. It has insights, multiple admins, an action button, reviews, ads via Ads Manager and monetization.
A new Page starts at zero, and an empty counter puts off the first visitors. To keep it from looking abandoned, you can add the first followers in our Facebook services: Page followers at $1 per 1,000 with a 60-day guarantee, from 10 followers, no password — only the Page link is needed.
How to switch a profile to professional mode
- Open your profile and tap "⋯" next to "Edit profile".
- Choose "Turn on professional mode" and confirm.
- Your profile gets a Professional dashboard: insights, reach and creator tools.
Friends, posts and name are kept, and the mode can be turned off. It is the main route to Facebook monetization in Ukraine for creators who do not want a separate Page.
Can you create two Pages on Facebook
Yes. One profile can create and manage several Pages — up to 200, according to guides citing Meta's help center. In practice, creating many in a row triggers the "You have created too many Pages recently" restriction. Businesses with several brands are better off using Meta Business Suite.
Besides Pages, you can add up to 4 additional personal profiles to your main one — for a hobby, for example. Professional mode, Marketplace and payments are not available on them.
Facebook business Page: how to create one step by step
- Menu (☰) → Pages → Create.
- Enter the business name and category (for example, "Shop" or "Beauty salon") and add a short bio.
- Upload a 1:1 logo and a cover, fill in contacts, address and opening hours.
- Add an action button: "Send message", "Call", WhatsApp or "Book now".
- Connect Instagram and invite friends to follow.
- Publish 3–5 posts before running ads.
Which to choose: profile, professional mode or Page
- Expert, blogger, specialist — professional mode: you keep your friend audience and gain insights and monetization.
- Business, shop, brand — a Page: ads, multiple admins, reviews, links to Instagram and WhatsApp.
- Personal communication — a regular profile.
How to get your first Page followers
Invite friends, add the Page link to Instagram, your website and email signature, and post regularly. A detailed strategy is in promoting a Facebook Page and group. For early social proof, Facebook followers and likes help: followers at $1.80 per 1,000 with a 180-day guarantee, likes from $0.50. Meta's rules prohibit artificial activity, so add them in moderation and alongside real content.
