A PK battle on TikTok (officially LIVE Match) is a split-screen contest between two streamers: during a round (usually 5 minutes) viewers send gifts, and whoever collects the higher total gift value in Coins wins. To take part you need LIVE access (18+ and usually at least 1,000 followers), and your opponent has to be live at the same time. The winners are streamers who gather viewers in advance and give them a reason to support them.
What is a PK battle on TikTok?
PK (Player Knockout) is the informal name for the LIVE Match feature. The screen splits in half, with a timer and a score bar at the top. Viewers of both streamers watch the same broadcast, so a battle is also a way to get in front of someone else's audience and gain followers even if you lose. Besides 1v1 duels, some regions offer team matches with several hosts.
Who can take part in a PK battle?
- Both streamers need LIVE access: age 18+ and usually at least 1,000 followers (the threshold depends on the region).
- Sending and receiving gifts is limited to users 18 and older.
- Some match formats aren't available everywhere, so update the app and check the LIVE menu.
If you don't have the LIVE button yet because of the threshold, you can top up followers on our TikTok followers page: the "from ads" plan is $6 per 1,000 at up to 300 a day, so 1,000 takes about 4 days, with a minimum order of 10 and no password needed. Once the counter reaches the threshold, the LIVE button usually appears, but conditions depend on your region and account age. Your first stream is covered in how to go live on TikTok.
How do you invite an opponent and start a battle?
- Start a stream: "+" → LIVE → Go LIVE.
- Tap the match icon (boxing gloves or VS, depending on the app version) at the bottom of the screen.
- Pick an opponent from the list of streamers who are live right now, or accept a random invitation.
- Once the opponent accepts, the screen splits and the timer starts.
Tip: agree on the battle in advance and pick an opponent with a similar audience size and niche, so the fight is fair and the audience exchange is useful.
How are points counted in a PK battle?
- Points are based on the Coin value of gifts: a Rose at 1 Coin adds the minimum, while expensive gifts swing the score instantly.
- Only gifts sent while the timer is running count.
- According to guides, the winner may get a short Victory Lap after the round, during which gifts keep coming in.
The outcome is often decided in the last minute, and that's where a streamer with an empty chat struggles most. For a starting push we offer LIVE viewers and PK battle points: points from $0.34 per 1,000, viewers from $0.82 per 1,000 for 15 minutes (packages up to 360 minutes), no password needed. Keep in mind that TikTok's rules prohibit artificial activity, so use this kind of boost in moderation and rely on a real audience. Gift prices in Coins are covered in TikTok LIVE gifts explained.
How to win a PK battle: strategies that work
- Announce the battle 1–2 hours ahead in a video and your bio, and ask fans to show up at the start.
- Warm up the stream for 15–20 minutes before the match to build viewers.
- Set stakes: what you'll do if you win, or which safe task the loser will do.
- Narrate the score and thank gifters by name.
- Keep the pace in the final minute, when activity usually peaks.
- Play in series: several rounds with one opponent and regular scheduled battles.
PK battle etiquette: what not to do
- Don't beg for gifts aggressively or pressure viewers; that can break LIVE rules.
- Punishments for the loser should be safe and not humiliating: dangerous challenges are prohibited.
- Don't insult your opponent or their audience, since their viewers are watching you too.
- After the match, thank your opponent and offer a rematch; that's how regular battle partners are made.
