You can make money on TikTok LIVE in five ways: viewer gifts (converted into Diamonds and withdrawn as cash), a paid LIVE Subscription, PK battles, brand integrations, and working with an official LIVE agency. All of them require LIVE access: according to TikTok's help pages, you must be 18 or older and usually have at least 1,000 followers, though the threshold can vary by region. Beginners should expect modest earnings in the first months, because income grows with a loyal audience.
What do you need to start earning on LIVE?
- Age 18+. Only adult creators can receive gifts during a stream (some countries set it higher, such as 19 in South Korea).
- Around 1,000 followers. This is the standard threshold for going LIVE from your phone, but it differs in some regions.
- A clean account. Community Guidelines strikes can temporarily block LIVE and gifts.
- Gifts turned on. Before you start, check that gifting is enabled in your LIVE settings.
- Streaming from a PC. Access to LIVE Studio and a stream key is not granted to everyone, even with 1,000+ followers.
The most common roadblock is a follower count stuck at 300–700. You can close the gap on our TikTok followers page: the "from ads" plan costs $6 per 1,000, followers arrive gradually from ad impressions at up to 300 per day, so 1,000 takes about 4 days. The minimum order is 10, and no password is needed, just your profile link. Once the counter hits the threshold, the LIVE button usually appears, but conditions depend on your region and account age, so check yours. TikTok's rules prohibit artificial activity, so order in moderation and keep posting videos. For a step-by-step first stream, see how to go live on TikTok.
How do gifts and Diamonds work?
Gifts are the main source of LIVE income. A viewer buys Coins and sends a virtual gift (a Rose costs 1 Coin, the most expensive gifts cost tens of thousands), and on the creator's side it turns into Diamonds. Diamonds accumulate as LIVE Rewards and can be withdrawn to PayPal or a bank account.
- TikTok does not publish the exact share a streamer receives.
- Independent estimates put the creator's cut at roughly 30–50% of what the viewer spent.
- Sending gifts is also limited to users 18 and older.

What does LIVE Subscription offer and who can get it?
LIVE Subscription is a monthly paid membership for a creator. Subscribers get a chat badge, custom stickers, private chats, and subscriber-only videos and streams. For a streamer it is steadier income than one-off gifts.
- According to TikTok's official announcement, Subscription is open to creators 18+ with 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the past month, or to those who meet specific LIVE requirements.
- Third-party guides say the LIVE path needs 1,000 followers and at least 30 minutes of streaming in the last 28 days.
- It is not available everywhere, so check the monetization section in TikTok Studio.
How much do PK battles and brand deals pay?
A PK battle (LIVE Match) is a split-screen contest between two streamers. Points are based on the coin value of gifts received during a round (5 minutes by default). Battles don't pay by themselves: the money is still gifts, but the competition pushes viewers to give more actively.
Brand integrations mean mentioning a brand on stream for a fixed fee. TikTok's official TikTok One platform requires you to be 18+, have 1,000+ followers, and live in a country where it has launched; individual campaigns may add their own criteria. Direct deals with brands are possible too, but you must label them using the content disclosure setting.
Should you join a LIVE agency?
Agencies (creator networks) are independent companies approved by TikTok to work with streamers through the LIVE Backstage platform. They help with analytics, scheduling, and promotional tools. Joining is optional: LIVE and gifts work without an agency.
- Invitations arrive inside the app, and you accept them in the Agency Center.
- A real agency never asks for your password or an upfront "training fee".

How much can a beginner realistically earn?
There are no fixed per-stream rates: income depends on how many regular viewers show up and send gifts. Early streams often get no gifts at all, and that's normal. What speeds up growth:
- 3–4 streams a week at the same time;
- announcing the stream in your videos and bio a few hours ahead;
- streams of 30–60 minutes or longer, since the algorithm needs time to surface your LIVE;
- talking to chat: thank people by name and ask questions.
An empty chat scares off casual visitors. To keep early streams from looking deserted, you can add TikTok LIVE viewers from $0.82 per 1,000 viewers for 15 minutes, with packages up to 360 minutes. It helps the first impression, but only a real audience sends gifts, so content and consistency come first.
