TikTok LIVE gifts are bought with Coins: the cheapest ones (Rose, TikTok) cost 1 Coin, the most expensive cost tens of thousands, and one Coin costs a viewer roughly $0.01–0.013. On the streamer's side a gift turns into Diamonds. TikTok doesn't publish an official rate, but independent estimates say the creator ends up with about 30–50% of what the viewer spent. Both sending and receiving gifts require you to be 18 or older.
How much do TikTok gifts cost in Coins?
The prices below match across several recent guides. TikTok updates its gift lineup from time to time, so check the current price in the gift panel during a stream.
- Rose — 1 Coin.
- TikTok — 1 Coin.
- Galaxy — 1,000 Coins.
- Lion — 29,999 Coins.
- TikTok Universe — one of the priciest gifts; guides list 34,999 and 44,999 Coins, as the price has changed.
Cheap gifts are sent most often, and what matters is not the price but how many people are in chat: gifts show up where there is an audience. If your first streams show 2–3 viewers, casual visitors leave within seconds. To support a stream at the start, you can add TikTok LIVE viewers from $0.82 per 1,000 viewers for 15 minutes, with 30–360 minute packages and no password required. That creates a lively backdrop, while the gifts come from people your content hooks.
How much does a Coin cost and where is it cheaper?
Coins are sold in packs in your profile balance or straight from the gift panel on a stream. The price depends on your country, currency and pack size; on average it's about one cent per Coin. Guides note that Coins are usually cheaper on the TikTok website than in the app, because app prices include App Store and Google Play fees.
- Buy Coins only in the app or on TikTok's official website.
- "Cheap Coins" from resellers who ask for your password are a fast way to lose your account.
How much does a streamer get from one gift?
A gift converts into Diamonds, which add up as LIVE Rewards. TikTok doesn't disclose the official rate, so all figures are estimates:
- guides most often say 2 Coins equal roughly 1 Diamond;
- the creator ends up with about 30–50% of what the viewer paid;
- example: for a Galaxy (1,000 Coins, about $10–13 for the viewer) the streamer receives a few dollars.
You'll see the exact dollar amount in your balance before withdrawing. We explain how to turn Diamonds into money in how to withdraw money from TikTok.
How do you send a gift on TikTok LIVE?
- Top up your Coin balance in your profile or on the TikTok website.
- Open the stream and tap the gift icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Pick a gift from the list; its Coin price is shown under each one.
- Tap "Send": the animation appears on the streamer's screen and your name shows in chat.
During a PK battle, gifts also add points to the side you support.
How old do you have to be to send and receive gifts?
The rules are strict and apply to both sides:
- Viewers: you can send gifts from age 18.
- Streamers: going LIVE and receiving gifts starts at 18 (19 in South Korea).
- According to guides, government and political accounts can't receive gifts.
If your profile says you're under 18, the gift button won't appear, and TikTok may ask you to verify your age.
Why isn't anyone sending gifts to a streamer?
- Gifts are turned off in LIVE settings, so check before you start.
- Too few viewers. Only a small share of an audience gifts, so you need a steady flow of people.
- No reason to give. A stream goal, a challenge or a battle gives viewers a reason to support you.
- No thanks. Call out gifters by name; it motivates everyone else.
And if you can't go LIVE yet because of the 1,000-follower threshold, close the gap with TikTok followers from ads: $6 per 1,000, up to 300 a day, so about 4 days per thousand, no password needed. Once the counter reaches the threshold, the LIVE button usually appears, but conditions depend on your region and account age. TikTok's rules prohibit artificial activity, so order in moderation and keep posting videos. Other LIVE income sources are covered in how to make money on TikTok LIVE.
