Yes, Telegram lets you schedule a message in any chat and set up a delayed channel post without third-party tools: on a phone, press and hold the send button; on a computer, right-click it and choose scheduled sending. One chat can hold up to 100 scheduled messages, and you can pick a date up to 365 days ahead.
How to schedule a post in a Telegram channel on your phone
The steps are the same on Android and iPhone, for channels, groups and private chats:
- Open the channel (you need admin rights to post) and write your post: text, photo, video or poll.
- Press and hold the blue send arrow.
- Choose "Schedule Message".
- Set the date and time and confirm.
A calendar icon then appears next to the input field — that is your queue of scheduled posts. Every chat and channel has its own queue. The post goes out on its own even if your phone is off, because the message is already stored on Telegram's servers.
A scheduled post lands at peak time, but in a new channel the first posts with a handful of views look unconvincing. You can add a starting count on our Telegram views page — from $0.12 per 1,000, no password, just a link to the post. Telegram's rules prohibit artificial activity, so order moderately and keep a steady posting schedule.
How to schedule a Telegram message on a computer
- In Telegram Desktop or on Mac, open a chat or channel and type your message.
- Right-click the send button.
- Choose "Schedule Message" and set the date and time.
In the web version the option also opens with a right-click on the send button. A handy trick: a scheduled message in Saved Messages works as a reminder — the app notifies you at the chosen time.
Send When Online and repeating messages
In private chats the same menu has a Send When Online option. The message is delivered as soon as the other person comes online. Limits:
- it works only in private chats, not in channels or groups;
- it is unavailable if the person hides their last seen time from you.
In November 2025 Telegram added repeating messages: in the scheduling window tap "Repeat" and choose an interval — daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly, every three months, twice a year or yearly. According to Telegram's documentation, repeating is available to Premium users and works for single messages, not albums.
How many messages can you schedule and how to edit them
- Up to 100 scheduled messages per chat or channel.
- Up to 365 days ahead.
- To edit, tap the calendar icon in the input field, then press and hold the message (right-click on desktop).
- You can change text and media, reschedule, send now or delete.
If several admins run a channel, everyone who can post sees the queue, which makes a weekly content plan easy. We explain how to build a steady schedule in how to run a Telegram channel.
Scheduler bots: when the built-in feature is not enough
Third-party bots and auto-posting services make sense if you:
- run several channels and want one calendar;
- add inline buttons to posts or auto-delete ads on a timer;
- publish one post to Telegram and other social networks at once.
Such a bot only needs channel admin rights with permission to post. Never enter your SMS code or account password into third-party services, and do not let a bot appoint admins. More about tools in our overview of SMM automation.
When to schedule a Telegram post for maximum reach
A post collects most of its views in the first hours while it sits at the top of a subscriber's feed, so timing affects reach:
- a common benchmark is early morning, lunchtime and evening in your audience's time zone, but test it on your own data;
- do not stack posts back to back — leave a few hours between them;
- send night posts silently so they do not trigger unsubscribes.
