To add a Telegram channel to your profile, open "Settings" → "Edit Profile" → the "Channel" section → "Add Channel" and choose your public channel. After that, anyone who opens your profile will see the channel and a preview of its latest post above your bio, and can open it with one tap. The feature appeared in April 2024 and works in current app versions.
What a personal channel in a Telegram profile is
It is a block in your personal profile with the channel name and a detailed preview of the latest post. In effect, it is a showcase seen by everyone who taps your avatar in a chat, group or comments.
- Previously, a channel link had to be tucked into the bio; now the channel appears as a separate, prominent block.
- Contacts get no notification — they see the channel when they open your profile.
- The preview updates automatically: every new post becomes the face of the channel in your profile.
A personal channel brings traffic, but a channel with 20 subscribers makes new readers hesitate. You can build a starting base on our Telegram subscribers page — Ukraine geo from $0.40 per 1,000, no password, just a channel link. Telegram's rules are against artificial activity, so order moderately and alongside regular posts.
Requirements for adding a channel to your profile
- You own the channel. A subscriber or a regular admin can't add someone else's channel.
- The channel is public — it has an @username. Private channels don't appear in the list; if yours is private, read how to switch the channel type.
- One channel per profile. You can replace or remove it any time.
- An up-to-date app. If there is no "Channel" section, update Telegram. According to Telegram's description, Premium isn't required for this feature.
How to add your channel to your profile on Android
- Tap the three lines in the top left corner → "Settings".
- Choose "Edit Profile".
- Scroll to the "Channel" section and tap "Add Channel".
- Pick the channel from the list and confirm.
How to add a channel to your profile on iPhone and computer
- iPhone: "Settings" tab → "Edit" in the top right corner → "Channel" → "Add Channel" → choose the channel → "Done".
- Web version: menu → "Settings" → edit profile → "Channel" section.
- Telegram Desktop: the option is in your profile settings; menu names may differ depending on the version.
To remove or replace the channel, go to the same section. You can check the result in "Settings" → "My Profile", which shows how your profile looks to others.
Why creators and businesses need a channel in their profile
- Comments turn into traffic. A useful comment in a big chat or under a large channel's post → people open your profile → they see your channel.
- Trust in conversations. A client or partner instantly sees your expertise and fresh posts.
- Free promotion. It is one of the methods from our list on how to promote a Telegram channel for free.
How to get more clicks from your profile
- The latest post is your showcase: don't leave an ad or a "technical" post on top.
- The channel name should explain the topic without a click.
- Leave meaningful comments in niche chats — no spam, or you'll get banned.
- Link to your profile from other social networks and optimize the channel for search — see how to get into Telegram search.
If the post in the preview is fresh but has only a handful of views, you can add starting reach on our Telegram views page — from $0.12 per 1,000, also without a password.
