Can you see who subscribed to you on YouTube
Yes, but only partly. A channel owner can see a subscriber list in YouTube Studio (the Recent subscribers card on the dashboard or the subscribers report in Analytics), but it only shows people whose subscriptions are public. Those who keep their subscriptions private are counted in the total but are not listed by name.
No creator gets a complete list with every name, and third-party services cannot see it either — never enter your account password there for a “hidden list”. And you cannot see another channel's subscribers at all: the list is only available to the channel's owner and managers.
Where to find the subscriber list in YouTube Studio
- Open studio.youtube.com on a computer.
- On the dashboard, find the Recent subscribers card and click See all.
- Alternative route: Analytics → Audience tab → subscribers card → See more.
- Pick a period at the top: 7, 28, 90 or 365 days, or Lifetime.
- You can sort by subscription date or by each subscriber's own subscriber count — handy for finding creators to collaborate with.
The exact subscriber count is also only visible in Studio: on the public channel page, large numbers are rounded.
If your list has only a few dozen names and new viewers hesitate to subscribe to an “empty” channel, you can strengthen the base with YouTube subscribers with a 30-day guarantee — from $20 per 1,000, no password, just a channel link. Platform rules are against artificial activity, so add subscribers gradually and alongside regular uploads.
Why not all subscribers appear in the list
- Private subscriptions. According to YouTube Help, subscription settings are private by default for new accounts. So most subscribers will not appear in the list, even though they are in the total count.
- Deleted and terminated accounts disappear from both the list and the counter.
- Spam accounts. YouTube reviews subscriptions and removes those it considers fake — which explains sudden drops in the count.
Sometimes a private subscriber still shows up: if they post in a subscribers-only live chat or comment on a video where comments are limited to subscribers, other viewers can see that they are subscribed.
How to see your YouTube subscribers on your phone
- Install the YouTube Studio app — the regular YouTube app has no subscriber list.
- Make sure the right channel is selected.
- On the dashboard or in Analytics, find the subscribers block and open the full list.
- Period filters and sorting work the same as on desktop.
The layout of the app changes between versions; if you cannot find the list, open studio.youtube.com in your phone's browser in desktop mode.
Where to track subscribes and unsubscribes in Analytics
The list of names is nice to look at, but numbers matter more for growth:
- Analytics → Advanced mode → Subscribers metric: split it into subscribers gained and lost and see which days had spikes.
- Per video: each video's analytics shows how many subscribers it brought in or lost.
- Subscription sources: where subscribers come from — channel page, watch page, Shorts, search.
We cover other metrics worth tracking in our guide to YouTube Analytics, and if you lose more subscribers than you gain, read why your YouTube subscribers are not growing.
How to make your own subscriptions private
If you do not want creators and other viewers to see your subscriptions:
- open YouTube on a computer and click your profile picture;
- go to Settings → Privacy;
- turn on the option to keep all your subscriptions private.
After that your account will not appear in channels' subscriber lists, but your subscription still counts toward their total. The mobile app may not have this setting — use a browser instead. If you are growing a channel and want to work on all metrics at once, subscribers, views and likes are gathered on our YouTube promotion page.
